On 10 July, AGI opened the doors of its facilities in Vila Nova de Gaia to host AGI TECH DAY 2025 — an inspiring day dedicated to innovation, collaboration, and a sustainable future for the plastics sector. Under the motto “Energy for your Business”, the event marked a symbolic moment for both AGI and the wider Hromatka Group network.

The open house format was designed to encourage proximity and genuine idea-sharing — and it delivered just that. Over one hundred clients, partners and industry professionals accepted the invitation to explore AGI’s facilities, warehouses, people and long-term vision up close.

A warm welcome and forward-looking vision

The event kicked off at 9:00 a.m., with the AGI team welcoming all guests with enthusiasm. The official opening featured speeches by Nuno Guimarães (Co-CEO of AGI) and Roger Geissberger (Managing Director of Hromatka Group), who both underlined the importance of events like this to strengthen business relationships, enhance technical knowledge, and build bridges toward a more sustainable future.

Knowledge sharing, real solutions

Tiago Guimarães (Co-CEO of AGI) introduced a series of high-value technical presentations delivered by specialists from globally renowned companies such as SABIC, FANUC and PIOVAN. Key topics addressed included raw material innovation, process automation, production efficiency, and new sustainability approaches.

A particularly memorable moment came with a presentation by Jeremy Hugh Aston, professor at ESAD and curator of the exhibition “100 Years of Hairdryers”, who shared a creative and insightful reflection on the relationship between materials, design and society. Alongside his talk, a segment of the exhibition was on display during the event, drawing considerable interest and curiosity from participants.

A break with energy — and new connections

Lunch was more than just a break — it became a valuable moment of networking and exchange among colleagues, partners and new faces from the sector. In a relaxed and collaborative atmosphere, participants shared ideas, experiences and contacts, reinforcing the sense of community that defined the entire day.

Sustainability and transition: a shared responsibility

The afternoon programme focused on the major themes of sustainability and the plastics industry’s transition towards more responsible and circular models. Presentations and discussions highlighted practical strategies and concrete solutions for a sector that is becoming more efficient, greener, and better equipped to meet today’s and tomorrow’s challenges.

AGI also took the opportunity to thank all collaborators, business partners (HROMATKA GROUP, GUZTEC POLYMERS, SABIC, FANUC, PIOVAN), institutional partners (PIEP and AFIA) and media partners who helped make the day possible: MUNDOPLAST, PLAST21, JORNAL DE LEIRIA, PLÁSTICOS UNIVERSALES and INTERPLAST, from the INTEREMPRESAS group.

More than just an event — a new beginning

AGI TECH DAY 2025 left one thing clear: the transformation of the plastics industry is already underway, and its success will depend on collaboration, innovation, and a shared vision.

AGI — with the support of the Hromatka Group — is fully committed to this path and will continue to create spaces for connection and progress like this one. AGI TECH DAY 2025 was just the first in a series of initiatives designed to unite technical expertise, hands-on experience and strong human relationships.

Because transformation is not a choice — it is the only way forward to a future with greater value, higher efficiency and stronger awareness.
